"More Tomahawks for Our United Warriors"Original linen backed World War II antique poster. "More Tomahawks for Our United Warriors" Buy War Bonds now!. In this poster by Charles Presbetonequa, a young Native American man dressed in traditional garb and carrying a tomahawk dances as two U.S. Army Air Corp P-40 Tomahawk fighter planes fly by after downing an enemy aircraft, with the words More Tomahawks for our united warriors appearing above the image and the words Buy more bonds now! appearing below the image. During World War II, all Americans were called to help the war effort by investing in U.S. war bonds. All Americans. This is one of the three posters created by Native American students at the U.S. Indian School in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Published by the U.S. Government, the colorful poster sheet promotes the sale of bonds to finance the war. The poster sheet uses Native American scenes or imagery to depict their patriotism The P-40 was the best known Curtiss-Wright airplane of World War II.
