This indeed a very rare vintage Dansk woven linen tablecloth in excellent condition. One owner from an estate. The designed for Dansk by Ritva Puotila circa 1960\'s. One of three that from a wonderful estate. Ritva Puotila designed linen for Dansk from 1963. This tablecloth is from the earliest years of her production with the company, when Dansk advertised the ‘Finnish Accent’ tagline. It is thick and lays with not a lot of wrinkle if any. Gorgeously made hand loomed woven original. Deep color and lovely hand.

A mid century modern color scheme. No issues, clean, soft, some evidence of use but no holes or stains. It is a beautiful Deep eggplant purple and Blue in wide stripe pattern with brown in some light and purple in others in center, 46.5 x 54 inch rectangular shape.

The woven nubby linen is overshot: the warp and weft are different colors to create an optical color—here, the warp is purple throughout, and the weft is brown and switches to lighter purple/ Sienna brown, which creates deep shades of purple. The heavy linen has a nubbly texture throughout. ***The tags is missing on this one but you know what this is if you know. One tiny thread of the black label remains. I have included the label from another that I just sold to show you what it looks like. This is stored in a cedar chest with lavender until purchase.

This wonderful piece completes your Danish Design Mid Century Decor and was specifically designed to accent the woods used in Scandinavian Danish decor. (see the old advertisement I included in photos!) It is one of 3 Dansk linen tablecloths all carefully stored from an overwhelming amount of antique linens that I have acquired at estate sale. So many gorgeous linens from all over the world and all carefully stored from a mid century ranch home. They clearly traveled widely. Save my shop as I will be listing slowly.
