If those words conjure up that earworm of the musical theme from that old commercial, then you remember the classic game GUESS WHO!

This lot includes Rare Vintage Hand-Inked & Painted Production Cels and Animation Drawings from what has been described as \"possibly the easiest board game ever made\" & which still has a warm place in the hearts of countless young people who fondly remember not only the game but the ear-worm- inducing TV commercial itself!

This lot features artwork from the initial TWO series of commercials, both traditionally drawn character animation, the 1st was traditionally inked-and-painted in the same way traditional cartoon animation had been produced for decades. The 2nd was drawn & inked traditionally, but colored DIGITALLY with a very early version of digital ink & paint systems, & in these drawings you\'ll see the \"registration marks on each drawing to align each scanned drawing to the next in addition to the traditional peg-holes.

Later spot features a different design to some of the characters and in this lot you will, for example, have two different versions for Claire, with her fondly remembered flowered hat, and 2 of Susan, with her fondly recalled dimples & 2 different hairstyles, one of each hand Inked and painted on acetate cels, and the others beautifully inked but were colored digitally so that no acetate cels exist. But you get a chance to have 2 generations of the characters in your collection!

Cel colors still bright and vivid, no yellowing or wrinkling. So along with the warm nostalgia for this iconic ad from childhood, you get a set of beautiful & rare collectibles of television commercial-animation art.

Item consists of group of FIVE hand inked-and-painted cels, THREE animation drawings that accompany 3 of the cels & 24 animation \"clean-up\" drawings in black ink from the digitally colored version, including ONE FULL SCENE, 19 Sequential Drawings, of bald bespectacled Tom in VERY expressive facial poses.

Cel painted versions of Susan, Claire, Eric, Bill & one group sextet featuring characters \"Peter, Anne, Richard, Eric, Claire & David,\" w/ the original animation drawings for Eric Claire and Susan, PLUS hand-inked clean-up art of Claire, Susan, the sextet from the 2nd series featuring Susan, Maria, Max, Tom & others. The Eric art includes old-school matte pass artwork for adding in-camera shading to the cel-artwork, including a black marker level & a delicately shaded airbrush level for modeling Eric\'s face.

Also included in this unique lot is a production exposure sheet for the first scene which is always of interest to students of traditional animation.

(Interesting historical fact about these TV ads, the 1st ad with traditional hand-painted animation was the one where the agency needed to add to the spot\'s voice-over narration after an alleged lawsuit from irate families whose kids went ape-schiszt when the game didnt \"move\", once they got it home. A much later ad version basically disposed of movement completely, & just put animated lips on the static characters, we add with disappointment.)

Cels and paper art are all 12-field size, with 3-hole Acme- standard peg holes. Paper art is drawn with water soluble black ink, so care with handling is advised.
