RARE Vintage 1947 Original Watercolor Painting KAISER FRANZ JOSEPH I of Austria:

KAISER FRANZ JOSEPH I (1830-1916) of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, on his horse, in full military regalia.
This is possibly an illustration. It is rendered in watercolor, gouache, & ink on lightweight board. It is signed “Cpt Lerch”.
On the rear, there is dried paste, and an inscription in German. I tried an internet translation: “Christmas greetings from the good old days”. Then signed off with something I can’t make out, to “Herty”(?), and dated below, “Ger. 1947”. However, it may have been painted earlier.
It is approximately 10” x 8 1/4”.
