I received this typewriter for my birthday as a teen from my parents in December 1970.Everything is original...and I even have the original Manual.I did find the original receipt (that I am keeping for sentimental reasons) dated 12/16/1970.Made in France for Paillard S.A. Yverdon Switzerland It was a special order purchase with the WIDE carriage. I was an editor of my high school newspaper, and I needed the wider carriage for copy. But because of the wide carriage, it did not come with a metal case, just the plastic dust cover.
I was the only user of the typewriter....I used for a few years in high school...and then lightly in college - just for lab reports and the occasional paper. I was an engineering major...so not too many papers! Since then, I have always taken it with me to fill-in a form once in a while, or merit badge cards for scouting...so VERY light use!
The typewriter is in great shape. There are small nicks/scuffs in paint...but for 53+ years old it looks amazing. See photos.Note that the four black bumper feet on the bottom appear to be falling apart...but all the other components seem great.Also, please note the little bit of white-out on the front transparent gauge (not sure if it has an officialname). Also, please note in the photos that the dust cover is torn in two places and has a few small holes. I also found four new ribbons (different brands) that I will include.Please see photos for more details.
