RARE PAIR of Genuine Bristol vases, a richly colored glass often touched with gilt, was made in and around the Port of Bristol in Southern England during the Late 18th and Early 19th Centuries.
Victorian Bristol Glass is Thin and Relatively Lightweight for its Size.
It is also Translucent and Will Look Subtly Foggy Up Close, Yet Dazzling in a Window where the light bounces off the glass. Of the Many Truly Vibrant Colors that are in Existence, its the Sugary White Opalines that were Most Popular, and Glass Decorators Painted Full Blown Arpeggios of Flora and Fauna, Bird and Beetles, Chess Pieces and More.
They Acid Etched, Gilded, or Added Sand to the Enamel for Texure. This Stunning Pair of Antique Bristol Frosted Glass Vases Offers Hand Painted Decor with Raised White Dots for Texture, Lobed Bronzed Leafs for Beauty and a Delicate Vining and Swirling Pattern with Sprigs for Added Visual Interest.
The Colors are Neutral, on a Clambroth Ground, with Gold Embellishments and Nature's Color of Luscious Green for the Footed Detailing.
