Up for sale is a very rare antique 17th century handmade lidded German family urn.It\'s made of very thick pewter with a gorgeous silhouette and has acquired a lovely patina from age.It has a removable lid that sits recessed into the base and topped with a detailed spike finial.The urn is engraved by hand wrapping the belly and reads\"Asmus Friederich Stoltenberg Gilde Stifter, Detlef Reepen. Fochim Schlotfelt. Delterleute\".It\'s in nice condition and measures 17 3/4 inches tall by 6 5/8 inches wide.There was a drilled hole in the bottom as we think it was mounted as a lamp at one point, the finial is also a marriage.
