OMG~What a Find~Wool Blanket Covered in WWI Military Badges/Patches~VG for Age~VERY UNIQUE AND RAREI was cleaning out an old trunk in my basement, and inside the trunk I found this wonderful blanket.I had 2 uncles that fought in WWI, both came home to New Jersey, and this must have belonged to one of them. My uncle Ray loved to sew; make \'rag\' rugs etc. I bet he made this wonderful keepsake, and hand sewed the military badges onto the blanket. Somehow, my dad must have brought it home...and 100 plus years later I found it inside the trunk!World War I or the First World War was a global conflict between two coalitions: the Allies and the Central Powers. Fighting took place throughout Europe, the Middle East, Africa, the Pacific, and parts of Asia. July 28th, 1914~November 11th, 1918I would love to keep this historic blanket...but I am getting older now and it is silly to keep it hidden away any longer!Just think of all the hours you\'ll spend discovering what each military badge and/or patch stands for...I already found out about 3 to get you started:\"Rainbow\"=60th regiment; \"D with Y\"=Yankee Division; (red) \"SS\"= Service of SupplyAll the badges and/or patches have been hand sewn onto the black wool blanket. Some are coming loose, as the thread ages. I think 2 patches have already fallen off...and I can not find them...Blanket measures: approx. 55\" wide x 66\" long~~there is very little damage to the blanket. I only saw 1 tiny tear at the top. (see photos)Badges and/or patches have bold colors!If I removed the badges and/or patches and sold them individully, I\'m sure I make a lot more money...but this is not all about money...this is about HISTORY.
