This is anaturally occurring and very rare Halite replaced mineralized fossil pseudomorph wood limbspecimenwhich was collected from Holley Wood Ranch in Sweet Home, Linn County, Oregon a few years before the site was closed and then sold and renamed The Old Marker Ranch. ThisHalite replaced wood is fromthe Oligocene era and isalso called \'salt wood\'. This specimenmeasures 2.31 inches long by 2.50 inches wide at the widest spot and weighs 9 ounces. This amazing specimen is polished on the cut face but being Halite replaced is more porous and less compacted so does have two spots which are deeper then the face which did not take a polish.
