INCLUDES ORIGINAL \"SURPRISE\" BROOCH, which is very rare! House of Faberge\' Franklin Mint Imperial Eagle 150th Anniversary Egg. This was a limited issue design and only 1500 were made. This egg is approximately 8\" tall and 3 1/4\" inches wide. It is sculpted of gold plated 925 sterling silver and features 12 genuine sapphires (over one and half carat) and 8 genuine emeralds (over 1 carat). Total weight of the egg and brooch is approximately 2.1 pounds! The exterior of the egg is finished in a gorgeous ruby red enamel. The \"surprise\" inside this beautiful egg is an Imperial Eagle brooch made of solid 14 karat gold. It has 12 faceted diamonds, 2 pear shaped rubies and a ruby accenting the crown where the brooch sits. The brooch weighs approximately 9.77 grams. The interior is lined in a silk based velvet.***The music box does not work and will need repair** As you can see from the photos, there is discoloration of the metal in some areas. Also, there are cracks in the enamel as well as portions that are missing which reveal the silver underneath. I have included photos to show these issues. This piece was originally issued in the early 1990s. The base is marked, \"The House of Faberge\' Presents The Faberge\' Imperial Eagle Egg, 150th Anniversary, Sterling .925, Franklin Mint\". In the right hands, this beautiful piece could be restored to it\'s original condition.
