This is a really rare badge from the French Forces of The Interior. This unit was created in 1944 after the Normandie landing and made of resistance fighters. The group started with about 100,000 soldiers and were up to 400,000 within the same year. In 1944 they liberated hundred of towns across France. They fought in the Napoleonic war, WWI and WWII. After fighting with such courage against Germany, it was dissolved in 1946. During that period they were assigned to the 2nd French Army Corps.
