RARE SEVRES NAPOLEON SET CUPS & SAUCERS 19TH CENTURY.

Beautiful and rare to find antique Sevres Imperial Napoleon set of 6 cups & saucers dating to the early 19th century.

Wonderful set each cup having Napoleon's royal coat of arms as King of Italy and all pieces have other Napoleon symbols & decoration.

The coat of arms of Napoleonic Italy was the coat of arms used by the Kingdom of Italy (1805–1814) during the reign of Napoleon as King of Italy.

Marked with Manufacture Imperiale SEVRES crowned eagle mark that was used in 1810 - 1814.

The Kingdom of Italy was born on 17 March 1805, when the Italian Republic, whose president was Napoleon Bonaparte, became the Kingdom of Italy, with the same man (now styled Napoleon I) as King of Italy, and the 24-year-old Eugène de Beauharnais his viceroy. Napoleon I was crowned at the Duomo di Milano, Milan on 23 May, with the Iron Crown of Lombardy. His title was "Emperor of the French and King of Italy" (French: Empereur des Français et Roi d'Italie), showing the importance of this Italian Kingdom for him.

Sevres Imperial Eagle mark on all pieces.

Measurements cups around 3 inches tall x saucers 5 inches diameter.

Beautiful condition only see minor gold wear & losses.

The arms displayed on the heraldic shield are tierced per pale (three vertical divisions of equal width):

First pale: the upper portion shows a papal ombrellino with the keys of Saint Peter (for the Duchy of Parma), while the lower portion shows the white eagle of the House of Este (for the Duchy of Modena).

Second pale: a silver pale charged with the blue Milanese serpent of the House of Visconti (for the Duchy of Milan).

Third pale: the upper portion shows the lion of Saint Mark with a red cap on its head (for Veneto), while the lower portion shows the altered arms of Bologna, charged with a silver tower (for Rovigo and Feltre).

Inescutcheon: the heraldic shield is charged with a gold inescutcheon displaying an iron crown with six points (representing the Iron Crown of Lombardy) inside a red border with eight silver rings (for Lombardy).

The heraldic shield is encircled by the gold collar of the Légion d'honneur and superimposed on a Napoleonic eagle wielding a thunderbolt. Above the imperial eagle rises a Napoleonic star.

The eagle is surrounded by a green mantle that is lined with ermine and surmounted by a royal crown in gold.

Especially Chinese buyers: your purchase could be confiscated by the U.S. Government and you may receive your refund from the USG, or may not. While item could be sold in a separate sale by the government or Gov. vendor. Our store is not going to refund under any circumstances for confiscated items. We are making such statement based on our own experience selling rare Sevres set to a Chinese buyer in 2018 or 2019 with highly discounted price. Please Enjoy this Note: Following the very rude spamming communication from a potential buyer regarding authenticity of one of my Sevres porcelain collection items ( would not even let my replies to go back to him), in order to prevent future misunderstandings with any buyers, IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand on this Memorial Day, 30 of May, in the year of our Lord two thousand twenty-two, declaring to add the following mandatory note to all my current and future Sevres listing item descriptions:

“Not sure if this item is still part of the original order commissioned by a Monarch (meaning kings or the emperor’s, such as Napoleon I, Louis Philippe, Napoleon III, etc) or the augmented part of the royal order, or a later copy made in 19th or 20th centuries, but either way even if and when it is just Sevres “Style” they still are rare pieces of porcelain art. This note is going to be added to all listings even if and when I am 100 % sure they are original ones. Now it is up to a potential buyer to investigate before purchasing and making their own informed decision. Meanwhile, please feel free to share your options and negotiate price by sending me your best offers but be assured that no one can intimidate me to reduce a price on any original or potentially not original items in a rude way.”
