RARE & LARGE FAIENCE PLATTER , SARREGUEMINES , 1900
representing the courthouse in Rouen.Decorative dish in fine white earthenware of rectangular shape with photographic decoration painted in enamel.
The picture represents a view of the Palais de Justice in Rouen and was taken by Neurdein Frères, for the Manufacture de Sarreguemines. The rim is covered with a dark blue glaze. The dish is numbered.The Manufacture de Sarreguemines manufactured this type of decorative platter with a particular view of a provincial town, in a very confidential edition, hence its great rarity. Note that the Sarreguemines earthenware museum does not have the series of dishes dedicated to Rouen in its collections.
The earthenware of Sarreguemines is a ceramic production from 1790 to 2007 in the city of Sarreguemines, East of France.
