Offered for sale is this extremely rare 1905 Chicago automobile license plate. In 1905 Chicago switched to a brass plate. Originally painted, most survivors have lost all of it as the paint did not stick very well to the brass. Measures approx 6 3/4\" X 11 3/4. In overall very good condition. an extremely rare plate . This is made of brass and steel. It has great patina and has not been cleaned by me. These were the first car plates issued prior to the state having a plate .
