RARE Bob Jackson Signed FDC JFK Assassination Lee Harvey Oswald Jack Ruby Robert:
$49.99

This listing is for an INCREDIBLY RARE 1964 Germany John F. Kennedy first day of issue postal cover inscribed & signed by former Dallas Times Herald photographer and Pulitzer Prize winner, Bob Jackson.

On November 22, 1963 President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas, Texas by Lee Harvey Oswald from a sixth floor window of the Texas School Book Depository building on the corner of Elm and Houston Street.

Bob Jackson, a photographer for the Dallas Times Herald at the time, was riding in a convertible in the motorcade that day. As the car he was riding in turned onto Houston Street, Jackson, who had just ran out of film in his camera, saw the rifle being drawn back into the window on the sixth floor of the TSBD immediately after the shots were fired.

Two days later Lee Harvey Oswald was being escorted through the basement of Dallas Police headquarters when he was shot and killed by Dallas night club operator Jack Ruby at point blank range.

Jackson took a photo at the exact moment that Ruby’s Colt Cobra revolver discharged, capturing an image that would thrust him into the history books. He was awarded a Pulitzer Prize for the photo.

I HAVE ATTACHED TO THE LISTING, FOR REFERENCE ONLY, AN IMAGE OF JACKSON RIDING IN THE FATEFUL DALLAS MOTORCADE ON 11/22/63 AS WELL AS THE PULITZER PRIZE WINNING PHOTO HE TOOK TWO DAYS LATER SHOWING OSWALD BEING SHOT BY RUBY.
