I have a RARE Antique “The Colson Co.” Model-D Bicycle/Wheelchair Plier Tool (Elyria, Ohio).
This item is used and does show some wear, etc. However, overall it is still in really good condition considering the age. Please look at all of the pictures.
It is marked The Colson Co. Elyria O. U.S.A. Model-D. I believe it to be for that is primarily what the company specialized in)? It appears to be a bender or cutter of some sorts, possibly for spokes? I live a couple miles from the original factory that started in 1870s as the Worthington (?) Factory. Colson became partners with Worthington shortly after and finally bought everyone out in 1880s.Exclusively making bicycles, then wheelchairs/beds/etc.
Company moved to Jonesboro Arkansas in the 50s and presently make industrial casters. Colson bikes are very rare and sought after by collectors. The tool measures at a little over 9” in length. I could not find another one like it anywhere? RARE!
