RARE Antique Original Photograph Black & White Photo “The Swan” Steam Boat Montana, USA. This antique photo is an estate sale find. It is not framed, however it is set under single matting. The matting measures approximately 17.5” x 15”, and the opening for the photo measures approximately 13.25” x 10.25”. There are two different statements included with this photo that detail its provenance and history.

The statement on the top reads . . . The Swan - built in 1908 and owned by E.D. Moffett. Capacity was 26 passengers or 7 tons freight. Sank near mouth of Flathead River Montana in 1909 and a small daughter of Mr. Hill drowned. Name later changed to UNDINE and was owned by John Wells’ father - later sank in Woods Bay, Montana.

The second statement reads . . . Flathead Lake, Montana. Photograph of the Swan afloat on Flathead.

This would make an excellent addition to any den, office, living space, cabin, vacation home, etc.! There is some water damage on the left side of the black matting (see photos), but the picture itself is in solid shape.
