RARE Antique Conquistador Warrior’s Solid Brass Stirrups Est. 17th-18th Century.

This pair of heavy brass stirrups are estimated to be from the 17th-19th century. Each stirrup has been elegantly cast in the form of an eighteenth century European man’s shoe, similar to those worn by merchants in 17th century Amsterdam, with a loop on either side through which a leather strap would have permitted the stirrup to be suspended from the saddle.

Each has been cast with a round hole to the sole, presumably to allow water to drain when the rider was out in wet conditions. They are quite well cast with a beautiful, deep patina making them highly decorative.

Each stirrup measures 11” x 5” x 5”
