RARE Antique 19th C Miniature TIN Crimped HANDLE Cookie FLOWER Cutter 2" T #2A Very Rare Antique (19th C - 1900s) Miniature Tin Cookie Cutter. It is the tiniest one we have ever seen in this form- with a handle. We have been collecting for over 45 years and have never seen a cookie cutter with this design or form. It measures just over approx 2" Tall and approx 1.25" Wide at top portion and coming down to a point. The cutter height is 4/10" in. With the handle included - the cookie cutter is approx just over 1" Height. (We are also listing separately another rare miniature or tiny tin cookie cutter that was purchased with this one- it is also very tiny. They could be combined for discount shipping.)
It was most likely handmade in the pre-1900s and most likely made in Pennsylvania. It was very skillfully made as it is very difficult to work with making items this tiny. It has the wonderful darker aged tin you love to see and has a wonderful folk art design of what looks like a shamrock or clover and a crimped flower to the right of that. It has the original tiny tin handle and the handle is slightly wonky as it is soldered on at an angle on the back and that is just how we found this fantastic cookie cutter. WeIt has the wear and surface issues you normally see on antique tin cookie cutters.
It has some minor surface oxidation or rust and some oxidation of the tin as expected. Overall in good to very good antique old condition for an item of this age and use.
