1. This rare postcard was released during the beginning of the Russian revolution and the beginning of the civil war in Russia. Illustration by Moor Dmitry Stakhievich fairy tale A. Remizov "Country of Unprecedented", in the almanac "Creativity", Petrograd, Jan. 2 1917. Ed. «Creativity» by R. Golike and A. Wilborg. On the back of this postcard is the inscription: "From the Archive of D.S. Moor. L.F. Moor."
D. Moor (Russian: Д. Моор) was the professional name of Dmitry Stakhievich Orlov (Russian: Дмитрий Стахиевич Орлов, 3 November 1883 in Novocherkassk; † 24 October 1946 in Moscow), a Russian artist noted for his propaganda posters. The pseudonym "Moor" was taken from the name of the protagonists in Friedrich Schiller's play The Robbers.He was also the chief artist for the Bezbozhnik ("Godless") magazine
Moor is one of the founders of the Soviet political poster. His works are characterized by an expressive, not devoid of grotesque features, contour drawing, sharply delineating a planar color spot.Creativity is represented in major museum collections, including the State Tretyakov Gallery, the Pushkin Museum im. A. S. Pushkin and others.Aleksey Mikhailovich Remizov (Russian: Алексе́й Миха́йлович Ре́мизов; 6 July [O.S. 24 June] 1877 in Moscow – November 26, 1957 in Paris) was a Russian modernist writer whose creative imagination veered to the fantastic and bizarre.
