In her 95th year, Queen Elizabeth II celebrates her Platinum Jubilee, which marks the 70th anniversary of her accession. As the world's longest reigning monarch, Her Majesty has traveled all over the world, experiencing unique lands, cultures, and people. In 1959, the Queen made a stop in the Windy City before traveling to Canada to tour the St. Lawrence Seaway.

Chicago Mayor Richard J Daley and his wife greeted the Queen and Prince Philip at Queen's Landing. This was the Official Reception of the British Royalty to Chicago; over 700 people of importance were invited. The second card in the available frame is one of those admission tickets, beautifully preserved over time. The displayed portion of the admission ticket is visible 5 1/8" wide and 3" tall.

After an eventful day, Mayor Daily hosted an exclusive dinner for the royal couple in The Grand Ballroom of the Conrad Hilton Hotel. Over 1000 people reportedly dined with the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh. The official invitation is the top, larger card in the available frame, also beautifully preserved. The displayed portion of the invitation is 5.5" wide and 4.5" tall.

This professionally framed grouping is double matted behind glass. Bold black mounting paper with a sliver of white edging peeking out around its inner edges has the invitation and admission ticket commanding attention. A lovely 11/16" dark green mounting border, also with white inner edging, completes the setting. Finally, a frame with a raised face design, smooth edges, and burnished wood'-color to mimic wood, adds the perfect amount of richness to these collector pieces. The external dimensions of the frame are 9.5" wide, 11.5" tall, and 1" deep.

The backing paper is completely intact and includes a special pocket to hold the original 6" x 5" RSVP envelope, also in excellent condition. A picture wire is in place and wall mounting supplies are affixed to the wire in a baggie. The item's total weight is 1 pound, 4 ounces.
