Up for sale is this Framed Needlework. Made as a keepsake of a sailor’s cruise on the US Sherman During the Great White Fleet Cruise around the world. Theodore Roosevelt ordered 16 battleships and support vessels, all painted bright white to sail around the world. Port calls on six continents and lasting 14 months between 1907-1909 it was considered a very successful peacetime deployment. This sailor must have had this made in the Philippines. Still in good shape for over 100 years old.
