Description:This Willem Steenkamp custom Arrow Flipper is a fantastic utility folder. The drop point blade and ergonomic handle are perfectly designed for the task at hand.
Willem was accepted as a member of the Knifemakers’ Guild of Southern Africa (KGSA) in May of 2007. His attention to detail is clearly evident in his knives.
The 3.1 inch clip point blade is made from N690 stainless steel hardened to 59HRC with a satin finish. N690 is created by Bohler in Austria. It takes an incredibly sharp edge and holds on to it. Increased toughness gives it better resistance to edge chipping. The blade is hollow ground for an easy to maintain edge.
The blade is well centered with smooth action -- easily opened with one hand using the amofferextrous flipper toggle. The blade uses the IKBS (Ikoma Korth Bearing System) pivot system. This mechanism, which was originally designed to fit balisong knives, uses ball bearings to create exceptional action with no blade play.
The handle is made from black G-10 with desert ironwood inlay. The natural wood inlay brings warm tones to the knife. Bronze anodized titanium liners surround a black G-10 backspacer. The clip is made from textured black titanium. It is mounted for right-handed tip-up carry.
