For your consideration is this interesting 1st Medium Tank Battalion, 32d Armored Regt Silk \"Diary\" guidon.
This guidon is Post 1951 & pre 1963. This puts this piece in West Germany while Elvis Presley was stationed there.
Make of Guidon
This guidons measurements are 27\" x 19\". It\'s made of Silk with Silk Embroidered devices of the tank, sabers, letter, & numbers. There\'s a sleeve that runs the hoist of the guidon with leather tabs in the upper & lower sleeve. Finally, this piece has silk fringing on the edge of the entire fly of the guidon.
This piece is well made & it was manufactured during the Cold War period. These were true artisans and this piece is a true piece of art.
Condition:
This piece is in a mid-grade condition. The silk is together and there\'s no wholes. This being said, the writing is smudged from storage. This piece was improperly stored for the last 65 years. This piece needs love and needs to be stored properly to stop the deterioration.

• Reorganized and redesignated 1 September 1963 as the 1st Battalion, 32d Armor
• Inactivated 16 June 1986 in Germany and relieved from assignment to the 3d Armored Division Assigned 16 October 1986 to the 1st Cavalry Division and activated at Fort Hood, Texas
• Inactivated 15 December 1992 at Fort Hood, Texas, and relieved from assignment to the 1st Cavalry Division
• Assigned 16 April 1995 to the 2d Infantry Division and activated at Fort Lewis, Washington Inactivated 15 September 2000 at Fort Lewis, Washington, and relieved from assignment to the 2d Infantry Division
• Redesignated 28 June 2005 as the 1st Squadron, 32d Cavalry (organic elements concurrently redesignated as troops)
• Assigned 16 September 2005 to the 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division, and activated at Fort Campbell, Kentucky
