Post 1876 Era Uniform in Revolutionary War Style with Matching US Staff Buttons For Sale
Post 1876 Era Uniform in Revolutionary War Style with Matching US Staff Buttons: $275.00
While this uniform is possibly some sort of Militia "Special Event Use" Uniform, it is just as likely a theatrical creation as there is no tailor's label. In any event, it has a rather striking Faux Revolutionary War Era appearance. All of the buttons are original US Army Staff Coat and Cuff Sizes, are matching, and show a "Goodwin's Patent July 27, 1876" Backmark. One interior vest button is missing. All others are present. The outer material is a bluish green velvet-like material with red wool trim that has areas of insect spotting. The interior and sleeves seem to have period lining material that is largely undamaged. Also the interior is not heavily padded. Many if not most of the military uniforms of that period have interior padding. If anyone has ideas as to the origin or use of this uniform, please communicate. As always, your reasonable offers are welcome and will be given serious consideration.
