VintageJapanese movie tickets aretypicallydistributed in limited quantities by theaters
at the time ofthe original theatrical release of the film in Japan.
What makeJapanese movie tickets so desirable is that they are, for the mostpart, in full-color,
are intricately designed featuringartwork, characters, and scenes from the film that are very similar
to movie posters from the large mainstream movie theaters.
Thesecolormovie tickets are actually “micro-posters” in relation to thefull-size movie posters.Therearealso2-color (sometimes all-color)movietickets which are distributed in limited quantities
by theindependent community and locally owned, non-profit cinema and artscenters...
but, these tickets are much more scarce asthesetheaters are significantlysmallerwith limited seating.
These 2-color tickets are essentiallyindistinguishable as the full-color movie tickets
with the sameintricately designed artwork, characters and scenes from the film.Thesedifferent type movie tickets not only serve as a physical memento ofthe movie going experience in Japan,
butalsoconsideredcollectibles due to their condition, rarity, limited availability,
movie popularity, aesthetic appeal and poster design. Movieticketsareconsidered “used” the moment they are printed and come out of themachine.
The theater usher then removes the “stub-end” offthe ticket, prints aninkstamp on the reverse side of the ticket
and the moviegoerproceeds to the seating area to watch the film.
Thesetickets, if saved,mayhave other general signs of handling such asedgewear, wrinkles, creases,
a minute chip orunobtrusivesmudges or marks. There are movie tickets, purchased bythe moviegoer, thatarenot used at all, for whatever reason.
These “unused” movietickets, if handled, protected and stored away properlywillremain highly sought after
and become verycollectible.Itis indeedveryrare to find a totally complete and intact “unused” movie ticket that is in“likenew”condition.

This is the ORIGINAL FIRST RELEASE ISSUE MOVIE TICKET issued in 1992
by United Cinema in Japan when PORCO ROSSO was released
and the ticket was to be used for the viewing inside the theater.
The movie ticket was not used as intended.
The movie ticket was only available during the venue and NOW extremely difficult to obtain...
you do not see these original PORCO ROSSO movie tickets on the Japanese sale sites much at all,
and you sure do not see many of these tickets on .

This is an original, unused movie ticket for the 1992 Japanese premiere
of the animated adventure fantasy film,PORCO ROSSO.
The ticket is from the movie theater United Cinema in Gunma Prefecture, Japan.
Produced by Studio Ghibli/Toshio Suzuki, the movie was written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki.
On the front of the ticket features the image of the 2nd theatrical movie poster
and measures 11.5 cm in height and 4.0 cm in width.
It is a limited edition item and a must-have for any fan of the franchise.
The movie ticket is like-new and essentially flawless (mint condition)
and comes with a special flat rate postage charge of $5.00 for continental USA.
It is a first release ticket and a rare collectible for animation art and merchandise enthusiasts.
The movie ticket is a perfect addition to any anime and manga theme collection and a great conversation starter.

Brand new, unused, flawless is the true meaning of a TRUE MINT ITEM.

We, fundamentally, only sell original and authentic “USED” Japanese theater movie tickets as stipulated above under JAPANESE MOVIE TICKETS.
But, by this very definition, this grade of MINT, if used herein, shall be considered \"LIKE NEW and ESSENTIALLY FLAWLESS\", but \'USED” and therefore cannot be considered TRUE MINT.

NEAR MINT

Our top grade...most Japanese movie tickets fall within this catagory.
No substantial or significant flaws.
But, may show very minor signs of handling: soft edges, a light corner fold, minor surface wrinkles. NO SUBSTANTIAL MISSING

EXCELLENT

No major, significant flaws that seriously detracts from the movie ticket. Normal condition with a feeling of use over time due to handling or storage. But, may have some of the following:
tiny or light corner folds, indentations from storage, very minor tear along boarder only, age discoloration, a single crease from folding over. Most collectors would be happy with this grade.
NO SUBSTANTIAL MISSING

VERY GOOD

Has visible defects such as several creases, a small piece missing or an accumulation of minor defects. Details of imperfections will be listed. This grade is still more than suitable for framing but collectors that are fanatical about condition should wait for a better copy to come available.
