The city is located about 164 km (102 mi) north of Rome and 148 km (92 mi) southeast of Florence. It covers a high hilltop and part of the valleys around the area. The region of Umbria is bordered by Tuscany, Lazio, and Marche. The Grand Hotel (now Sina Brufani), which opened in 1884, was the first and is still the only luxury 5-star hotel dominating historic downtown Perugia, with sweeping views of Umbria’s green valleys. Located in the heart of the medieval city close to the Cathedral, the Fontana Maggiore fountain, the National Gallery and Corso Vannucci with its elegant shops, the Sina Brufani is the perfect starting point from which to set out and explore Umbria. Fiorenzo di Lorenzo (c. 1440 – 1522) was an Italian painter, of the Umbrian school. He lived and worked at Perugia, where most of his authentic works are still preserved in the Galleria Nazionale dell\' Umbria. This Divided Back Era (1907-15) postcard is in good condition.
