A beautiful example of the Paul Pohlmann designed PAUL KNIFE.Series 2 Model 2This example was distributed by A.G. Russell.Certain that the box says Gerber Legendary Blades under the A.G. Russell label.It was an end of run licensing agreement.
Knife has a blade marking reflecting that source.Main distributor was GERBER.Actual manufacturer of all examples of the Series 2 Model 2 was Peterson Precision Engineering.

Original and untouched.After the Original PaulKnife was discontinued by Gerber in 1986, Paul continued to improve the design of the 2-P to make the knife easier to manufacture and improve its already remarkably smooth mechanism. When he was satisfied with his improvements he re-submitted the revised 2-P design to Gerber. The 2-P was brought back into production in 1996 as the Series II, Model 2 Paul®Knife. This time Gerber did not build the knives; they were manufactured by Peterson Precision Engineering in California and marketed by Gerber. Cost overruns by the manufacturer soon drove the price on this second generation Paul®Knife too high for the market and agreement could not be reached to continue manufacture. Gerber discontinued production in 1997 after selling approximately 23,000. This second edition of 2-P knives also became highly sought after by collectors and discontinuing production just made them even more desirable. This AG Russell marked knife is one of the last of the 1997 Production Run that was made by Peterson Precision. This knife is a precision pocket machine and I have loved this design for decades. One of these is my EDC to this day.....(with custom bog oak handle slabs). It fills the hand nicely and holds and edge very well. Selling only because I am getting old and need to downsize.
