Moderate chew to the bit.
Date code of 16 stamped on pipe after “Made in London England 16” indicates the pipe dates from 1939.
Total length approximately 5.5”.
Bowl is roughly 1.75” diameter.
There is a hollow metal rod in the tenon and through the shank to the bowl. I’m not familiar enough with pipes to know if that’s there to aid in delivering the tobacco to your mouth or if it’s a device to clean the air passage of debris. Be aware it is in there and can be removed or left in as you see fit. The stem comes off to give you access to this inner rod. It seems to be some extra piece added in the pipes 85 year existence, but it can be removed easily if not needed.
