2、Discovery history
In 2016, two African brothers searched for their missing camels and found some special things when passing through Khabawi in the south of Sericho in Kenya and several large and dense stone areas in the south. Because there are few rocks in this area, they think these rocks may be meteorites.
They spent several weeks collecting these stones, and then transferred them to their home in Khabawi. For decades, camel herders have known the existence of these stones. An old man in the village said that when he was young, he and his brothers would play on the stone.
At the beginning of January 2017, Michael and Farmer received an email showing a \"huge original\" photo, weighing 107 kg. He went to Nairobi to buy this stone. Two weeks later, he returned to Kenya with Moritz Karl and went to Khabawi.
Here, they showed a lot of specimens, which were stacked in the courtyard of two houses. So far, 2.8 tons have been found.
The international name of the meteorite was officially obtained on July 3, 2017. The international name of the meteorite: Sericho
3、Formation cause of olivine iron meteorite
At present, there are two kinds of speculation about the causes:
One theory is that the differentiated asteroid is hit and splashes out material between the core and the boundary of the earth.
Another new theory holds that a large-scale impact event can trigger the partial mixing of the differentiated asteroid earth and core material and be sputtered into space.
