The Grand Antique Mall, located in Cincinnati, Ohio, presents a massive 53” tall green Asian “Palace Floor Vase”. The hand made ceramic vase was created on a wheel and fired in a kiln. In-relief carvings of 2 peafowl & blooming peonies encircle the vase. Includes an Asian-style, 2-tired wooden stand. The vase’s apple green background adds a jade-like effect to the piece. “Meiping (梅瓶)” — the name of the plum shaped vase — is thought to symbolize an “ideal” feminine shape; vase’s narrow mouth was intended to hold a single plum blossom branch, emphasizing the subtle, elegant, beauty of nature. The plum shape contains the word mei (美) that, not ironically, means beautiful. A fine, majestic piece of work. DIMENSIONS: 53”H. Height without stand=42”H. Top diameter=6.25”. Stand=13.5”H (raises vase 11”) x 16.5”D. WT=110 lbs. CONDITION: Very Good +. Solid and sturdy. No missing pieces, chips, hairlines, cracks or repairs. Note: At the very bottom is a short light barely visible “glaze crack”.
