Beautiful pair of early 20th century Italian heavy brass Hippocampus ore lock figurine ornaments mounted on a rectangular base. Originally used to hold the braided silk steering ropes on a Venetian gondolas. Made of solid brass, with nice detail. Measures 11 3/4" high x 13 1/2" long x 2 1/4" wide and have a combined weight of 19 1/2 lbs. In Excellent condition free of dings or dents, wear to the underside, please see all photos.
