Pair Vtg Italian Specimen Marble Spheres - Bookends/Decorations Grand Tour:

For sale is a fantastic pair of heavy, vintage Italian marble spheres mounted on stepped marble bases. These could be used as table decoration or for bookends. Each has a label on bottom that says Made in Italy. The spheres are red and white Rosso Francia marble and the bases are black, white and gold Portoro marble. Great style and very Italian!

Specimen marble spheres are an Italian tradition dating back to the Romans, who made them to display Roman craftsmanship and the exotic marbles imported from across the empire.

These are in great condition with one chip to the corner of one base which I have highlighted in the photos. They display beautifully.

Height is 6.5”, width is 4.5”. Each weighs approximately 7.5 lbs.
