Details ~

Chinese Famille Porcelain Chicken Tureens on Carved Wood Stands. Large Hen Basket painted in shades of green, yellow, turquoise and brown. The interior is glazed in a beautiful turquoise blue. Each is seated on a nest meticulously painted in a yellow basketweave pattern. The hen lid is covered in fabulous bold colored feathers. This charming nesting chicken basket was originally used for egg storage, with small holes on either side of the base to prevent moisture buildup. Carved Stand is included.

This fabulous pair was purchased by a private Dallas, TX collector at The Market in Dallas which was a high-end retailer of fine antique furniture and accessories.
