This pair of hollow & rounds are in excellent condition!

Beautiful Pair #4Hollow & Round Planes by J. T. Jones / Philadelphia. They comein their as found condition; a little dirty, but they are pristine / mint condition and appear to beunused.

Circa 1831 – 1846,there are no cracks, stains, extraneous markings, etc. The wedges are fine – no cracks, breaks,repairs, etc. The soles are equally as good – nomars, gouges, etc., and the throats have not been altered or opened.

They measure ~ 9 3/8”in length, and are marked with the A2stamp (reference Elliot’s Guide to the Makers of American Wooden Planes ) “J. T. Jones /St Johns St / Philada”. 1 * (star) for rarity.

The irons are fine,and both are marked. The hollow ironlooks like “WM Ash & Co” (the second character is a bit smallbut I think that’s the mark), and the round iron is marked “James Cam”.

Jones is an earlyPhiladelphia maker and was only in business for 15 years, making his planes oneof the scarcer PA makers. This is one ofthe nicest pair of H & R’s I’ve run across in a long time – you won’t bedisappointed, especially if you’re a collector of planes made in PA, or if you\'re looking for a pair to use in your shop.
