PNG New Guinea Traditional BUKA WEAVE
Large Handled SERVING TRAY with interwoven 2-tone geometric pattern.
Oval 54cm x 39cm - handle to handle.
Shallow edges, 4.5cm high.
Natural reed fibres, natural colours
Vintage (mid - late 20thC), pre-owned and previously used for display.
Overall in great, dust-free condition with geometric woven pattern still distinct.
Both handles and rim are in very good sound condition. Flat, stable base.
As per last photo - 2 reeds in the weave have frayed on the rim directly under handle. These appear to be the only obvious signs of wear.
Stored sealed.
