PETERSON SYSTEM STANDARD 312 (1970s) + BOWL PETERSON DE LUXE 8S (1974s) Pipes

A full bent Peterson System Standard 312 and a Peterson De Luxe bowl offered in this listing. The De Luxe can be smoked with the System's stem as it mounts perfectly to the its shank (see last photo).

Both pipes feature excellent grains (combination of birds-eyes and straight). The System 312 has one of Peterson's large bowls (similar in size to Dunhill's Group 5). It has been smoked very little and lightly. Also, if we observe the initial 'P' on the "PETERSON'S" stamp, we will notice that it has the Old Style lettering. "Later in the 1970s Peterson begun production of "commemorative" pipes, often referred to as "replica" or "retro" pipes and these will also have the old style lettering" [A Peterson Dating Guide, Pipedia]

The Peterson De Luxe has been made in 1974 and has bowl similar in size to Dunhill's Group 3.

Both pipes are in near mint condition with very little ware from use.

The large has approximate diagonal length 160 mm (6.30"), bowl height 50 mm (1.97"), chamber depth 36 mm (1.42"), chamber diameter 18 mm (0.71") and weighs 60 gr (2.12 oz). Shank marks : PETERSON'S [arched], SYSTEM [arched], STANDARD, MADE IN THE | REPUBLIC | OF IRELAND, 312 - Ring marks : K & P | PETERSONS

The smaller has approximate length 149 mm (5.87") [fitted with the System's stem for measurement], bowl height 43 mm (1.69"), chamber depth 36 mm (1.42"), chamber diameter 17 mm (0.67") and weighs 38 gr (1.34 oz) [fitted with the System's stem for measurement]. Shank marks : PETERSON'S, DE LUXE, MADE IN THE | REPUBLIC | OF IRELAND, 8S - Ring marks : Peterson's, DUBLIN, STERLING | SILVER, 3 hallmarks

Both pipes do not take filters. The System Standard's stem is original, p-lip, vulcanite.
