Sellers signed this exclusive use contract in 1977 with a Panamanian company
Contract signed \"Peter Sellers\" in blue ink. Also signed by a representative of Goody Goody, SA in blue ink. 25 pages, 8½x14. Sept. 1, 1977. This contract is between Sellers, who at the time was living in Port Grimaud, France, and Goody Goody SA of Panama City, Panama. This contract gave Goody Goody SA exclusive use of Sellers for six years, beginning on Sept. 1, 1978, for at least one \"Class \'A\' photoplay\" directed by \"a first class director\", in which Sellers would have the male lead. In return, Sellers would be paid $2,885 per week, and receive first class transportation and accomodations and a \"star\" dressing room while working on Goody Goody productions. Sellers had only three years to live when he signed this contract and would make only five more movies, including The Fiendish Plot of Dr. Fu Manchu (1980) and what many consider to be one of his best films, 1979\'s Being There. One of the greatest comic talents of his generation, Sellers (1925-1980) had an exceptional gift for losing himself in a character - so much so that, beyond his remarkable skill as a performer and his fondness for the humor of the absurd, it\'s difficult to draw a connection between many of his best performances. He is perhaps best known for his role as Inspector Clouseau in a series of Pink Panther films. Sellers was nominated for Academy Awards for Best Actor for Dr. Strangelove or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (1964) where he played three different characters - two of whom were repeatedly in the same scene - and was slated to play five, and Being There (1979), one of his favorite books. Known as a workaholic who pushed himself to the limit despite heart attacks, Sellers was 54 when he died of one in 1980. Lightly toned and soiled. Top and upper right corners of pages are creased. Staple holes in upper left corner. Otherwise in fine condition.See more material from these signers:PETER SELLERS See more listings in our ACTORS & ACTRESSES (13,292) category.
