She was a four-masted barque built for the German shipping Company F. Laeisz. One of their famous Flying P-Liners, she was the last commercial sailing ship to round Cape Horn in 1949.
She was a 3910 bm and length of 375\' and beam of 45\' and draft of 23.5\'. Top speed 16 knots, four-masted barque. (40,900 gt of sails).She was built by Blohm & Voss, Hamburg and launched 29 July 1905.Acquired by:Kingdom of Italy for war reparations in 1920.F. Laeisz Co., Germany in 1924.Erikson Line, Finland in 1931Seized as prize of war 3 August 1941 by New ZealandErikson Line in 1948 by FinlandHeinz Schliewen, Germany in 1951 thenStiftung Pamir und Passat in 1954.
