Carved from genuine Koa wood (unique to Hawaii), this model of an Outrigger (\"Waa\" in Hawaiian) was purchased in Hawaii in 1969 as a souvenir of a trip to visit a soldier on R&R from the Vietnam war.

The tag, tied to the model oar with raffia, reads: \"Waa\" Outrigger Canoe (Pronounced Wah-ah). Genuine Koa. Made in Hawaii by Lanakila Crafts. \"Hawaii\" is painted onto the side of the outrigger. approximately 6.5\" x 3.5\"
