This rare original 8 x 10\" antique photo shows the girls basketball team for Madonna High School (now Aurora Central Catholic) c. 1928. The school opened in the fall of 1926, and only one person is identified - Patricia Mangan (who graduated in 1930) standing, second from left. This is a great late 1920s image, and I believe the girls are wearing their basketball shoes! The photo is from Aurora, Kane County, Illinois, although the building they are standing in front of does say Rockford, Illinois. Either the team was visiting Rockford for some reason, or the building was erected by the \"Diocese of Rockford\" or the \"Bishop or Rockford\" etc. Original 1920s group photos relating to Aurora are not easy to find. This one would look great on display, or would be a perfect gift for a female basketball player you know! Free local pickup is available in Geneva, IL. Happy offerding!
