Original Vtg 1939 Pages from A Medium’s Notebook Nelson Enterprises 1st Edition Cold Reading This is the rare vintage original book published in 1939, not the updated version that is more recently published that you will see! Published by Nelson Enterprises First Edition Publisher’s indicate this is by an “anonymous author” who is an authority in the field Somewhat humbly produced - plastic spiral bound with printed brown card covers lettered in dark brown, text page pages are reproduced (mimeographed) from a typescript. The scarce first edition of this anonymously written manual. Despite its title, the book is actually written as a guide for anyone who wants to set themselves up as a medium, mind-reader, spirit consultant, or psychoanalyst. The great majority of the work is devoted to the author\'s observations on common human behaviour, the art of what is now called \"cold reading\" and how to effectively fool people that the \"reader\" has great insight into their lives. The book closes with: “That, my friends, is my conclusion after having invaded and participated in almost every phase of the spiritualistic and ions and memories for what they are worth.” AND I did want to share some other last words of the author regarding fakers . . . and distrust and keeping the house in order – I show it to you as the last photo above! From the web: Robert Nelson(1901-1973), founder ofNelson Enterprises(and Bob Nelson\'s Magic Shop) in Columbus, Ohio, specialized inmentalism. Nelson Enterprises was founded on February 10th,1921to supply props and instructions for performing mentalism on stage, as well as tools and supplies for those who pitched metaphysical lectures at public venues, and those who served private reading clients. Nelson operated the \"Voice of Destiny\" radio program asDr. Korda RaMaynefor seven years and performed a crystal-gazing act as \"RaMayne.\" He also published pitch books for mentalists, private readers, astrologers, and numerologists under the RaMayne name, though his Psychic Sciences publishing wing. The company\'s printing department maintained its own staff to serve pitchmen and private office mentalists. Nelson\'s \"Tomorrowscope\" service, for instance, provided natal horoscope readings assembled from pre-printed sheets selected for each birth date and year Nelson helped organize the Howard ThurstonIBMRing, the Columbus Magic Club, and the Magic Hobby Club of Ohio, and he served as president of all three.He maintained a small demonstration theater in his shop.
