Provenance: These vintage, 1960, quality, published prints were removed from an original edition of the Photographic Lunar Atlas by Gerard Kuiper and likely thumb tacked to a wall for study - it was obtained from the estate of an aerospace engineer who was friends with Gary Poindexter, who was part of the NASA Flight Director\'s team for the Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo flights
This listing includes this one 4-fold (measuring 42\" x 34\") that shows 4 images of the lunar surface from a disassembled rare set of lunar photographs which were taken at the Mount Wilson, Lick, Pic du Midi, McDonald and Yerkes observatories

About Gary Poindexter, friend of the original owner of these prints - After playing football at Texas A&M under Coach Bear Bryant as one of the \"Junction boys,\" he focused his career on aeronautical and intelligence communications engineering. His pioneering work with the U.S. manned spaceflight program began with Project Mercury and continued to the Space Shuttle. His travels spanned the globe, establishing the first network to track and communicate with the astronauts. He was part of the NASA flight director\'s teams for Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo flights, enabling status and communications with the astronauts to take place so the world could share in the tragedies and triumphs of that historic era. Gary\'s skills and experience were instrumental in developing and integrating the Space Shuttle communication capabilities. He worked extensively and tirelessly with the U.S. intelligence community to protect, establish, and enable effective use of space-based intelligence assets.
