Up for sale is aIndianWarEraUS ArmyNo.2 Hagner Leather Cartridge Box for .50-70 Cartridges. This cartridge box is designed to hold 24 brass .50-70 cartridges. The Leather is flexible andpliable. Some areas of crazing of the leather.Leather surfacecracking on theleather flap. There is a faint US in theOval markings onthe flap. The retention strap and belt straps are intact and supple. Internally it has the twenty-four bullet loops and a pocket for the M1868 combo tool.The bullet loopsshowminor evidence of havingcartridges in them.It will be a welcomed addition to any Indian Wars Collection.

Thisbox was developed by Major P.V. Hagner and was submittedand approved by the Cavalry and Infantry Equipment Boards in 1871 and 1872.
