This is originalartwork of Ferrari driver Jean Behra driving his Ferrari Dino 246 in the 1959 MonacoF1 Grand Prix. The artwork was created bythe internationally acclaimed, automotive artist illustrator, Argentinian-born,Hector Luis Bergandi.

Jean Behra was onethe leading official Ferrari factory drivers in 1959 along with Collins, Frere,Gendebien, Hawthorn, Phil Hill, Munaron, Musso, Seidel and Von Trips.

Jean Behra is one ofthe story lines in the new Enzo “Ferrari” movie starring Adam Driver andPenelope Cruz.

Jean Behra was known as atemperamental, fearless race car and motorcycle driver with a nearuncontrollable temper. He drove forseveral racing teams throughout his racing career and survived 12 crashes.

In 1959, Behra drove for Ferrari in hisFerrari Dino 246 in several races including French, Monaco, Dutch and BritishGrand Prix’s. He teamed with Dan Durneyin the 1959 24 Hours of Le Mans, driving the Ferrari 250 TR. Unfortunately,they did not finish due to engine trouble.

Behra’s racing career with Ferrari cameto an abrupt end. He pursued a confrontation with the Ferrari team manager whoaccused Behra of over stressing the engine during the 24 Hours of Le Mans andat the French Grand Prix in 1959. Behra punched the team manager and wasdismissed from the Ferrari team.

About a month later, Jean Behra waskilled in a violent crash driving a Porsche RSK Spyder at Avus, Germany.

The artist, HectorLuis Bergandi, illustrated the Ferrari Piloti starting with the 1947 stable ofofficial Ferrari drivers. Bergandi\'sinterpretation of each Pilot is both compelling and expressive, capturing thetrue racing challenges of each driver and the Ferrari race car they drove.
