Original large-format 1949 color lithographed topographical map ofpartsof Hillsborough and Polk counties, Florida, printed more than 74years ago.

This map was compiled andpublished by the Corps of Engineers, U.S.Army Map Service and is drawn on a scale of 1:25,000.
The image area measures 55.2 x 49.5 cm [21¾" x 19½",and the coverage area is bounded by longitude 82°00'00" W to 82°07'30"Wand latitude 28°00'00" N to 28°07'30" N.
Details include roads, trails, railroads, benchmarks, precincts, andnaturalfeatures,as well as individual homes and farms, with contour lines at 20-footintervals.
It locates DraneField,a U.S. Army Base which is today the site of Lakeland the other specific named places and features arethe Atlantic Coast Line Railroad, Kathleen, WigginsPrairie,Knights Griffin Road, Seaboard Air Line, Youmans, Berry Road,Blackwater Creek, Mount Enon School, Winston, and the U.S. Army Auxiliary Field,northeast of Coronet Road.
The map is titled Plant City, Sheet4540II SE, prepared under the directionof the Chief of Engineers by the Army Map Service and printed in June1949.
Condition:The map is in very goodcondition, bright and clean, with no rips, tears,or writing. It is an ex-library map,and there's an old library stamp in the lower margin. It is blank onthe back, with no printing on the reverse side. Please see thescansand feelfree to ask any questions.
