2. THE PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER August 15, 1945, Two sections. Total 26 pages. Statements from Truman & Hirohito, news of MacArthur and much more. Many photos. Governor of Pennsylvania declares two day holiday for the state. Cost of this issue THREE CENTS!
3. THE RALEIGH TIMES NORTH CAROLINA AUGUST 14, 1945 EXTRA. 4 pages. And then the same paper - August 15, 1945. 8 pages. Each copy was a nickel.
4. THE INDIANAPOLIS STAR May 8, 1945. Two sections. Total 24 pages. Germany surrendered unconditionally to the Allies on May 7. As we see in the papers above, took a while longer for Japan.
5. NEW YORK DAILY NEWS - PINK EDITION - NEW YORK\'S PICTURE NEWSPAPER. August 20, 1945. One section. 20 pages. Issue cost 2 Cents in city limits! Articles on surrender talks with Japan in Manila, and much more.Very good condition overall. No interior markings or stains. Most all pages in good shape. Some tattering at some of the page edges, I think pretty remarkable condition for how old they are - newspapers don\'t usually survive this well. See photos please.
