World War I German Medal. Den WeltKrieg Erinnerung. Kaiser Wilhelm Franz Josef
German World War 1 Medal with Raised Relief Portraits of Kaiser Wilhelm and Franz Josef I, and with ornate intricate designs of wreaths, shields, soldiers, and scrolls. Made of a brass or bronze, plated in either silver or tin. With an original ribbon.
On the reverse, are the words \"Erinnerung an Den Welt Krieg\" meaning \"In Remembrance of the World War.\" Interesting that the dates shown on the back are 1914 -1915, suggesting this medal was made early in the war, before the USA was involved, at a time when Germany had the upper hand.
In excellent antique condition. The details are clear. The surfaces show normally in keeping with age (over 100 years old).
This is the original medal in its original state.
