CHART OF THE NUCLIDES

General Electric - Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory

[ FEATURES AND DETAILS... ]

This is an original 1950 poster in excellent condition (details below) that was previously mounted to a wall with thumbtacks. It measures 50\" wide x 26\" tall and will be shipped to you in a mailing tube.

From Online Sources:

On May 15, 1946, [Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory] (KAPL) began with a contract between General Electric and the U.S. Government to conduct nuclear research and development, including the generation of electricity from nuclear energy. In 1950, the nuclear power plant project was converted to a Naval Nuclear Propulsion project. Several years later Knolls\' work joined that of Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory, the Argonne National Laboratory, and others in developing the world\'s first nuclear-powered submarine, the USS Nautilus on January 21, 1954.In 1952 and 1953, Jimmy Carter, who would later become a US president, worked at KAPL as an engineer. The Chart of the Nuclides, containing information such as masses, relative abundances, half-lives, neutron cross sections, and decay properties for more than 3,100 nuclides and 580 isomers was developed at KAPL. This chart is a necessity for students and professionals in nuclear physics, chemistry, engineering, and medicine around the world. The Chart has been compiled, edited and periodically revised by KAPL scientists since 1956.

[ CONDITION... ]

- Beautiful vintage condition -- from a non-smoking environment.

- The paper has typical light age toning and a small hole at each corner from thumbtacks.

- It is creased from being folded in four, but there are no breaks or tears at the creases.

- One tiny chip (no paper loss) repaired on the back of the poster. See final photo.

Overall in extraordinary condition for its age

The above is my good-faith attempt to disclose all noteworthy issues. Keep in mind that vintage/antique items always show their age. (Don\'t we all!?) It would be impossible to mention every tiny detail, so please expect that there will be something about this item (or lot) that\'s not perfect and may need touch-up.

PLEASE SUPERSIZE ALL PHOTOS, AND ASK ALL QUESTIONS BEFORE offerDING/BUYING. I\'LL BE GLAD TO ANSWER.
