This is a chisel handle made of Hardwood. This socket chisel was made, to fit a vintage Stanley No. 750 chisel. (or chisels with the same profile) The type that came with maroon handles and that were stamped No. 750, on the socket of the chisel. It was not made to fit the newer Stanley 750 chisels, that are currently in production. This handle was finished, natural without color and has a light shellac finish. This handle has a few very small knots or other defects in the wood but they are small and should not affect the function or strength of the handle.
This handle is made fit a vintage Stanley No. 750 chisel (or chisels with the same profile) with a 1 inch wide blade.
The dimensions for the handles are give below:

This handle measures about .65 inches at the widest end of the cone shaped, socket tenon and about .44 inches at the small end of the cone shaped, socket tenon. It also measures about 3.5 inches without the tenon and about 4.6 overall length. This handle is made to fit a 1 inch wide No 750 type chisel. The chisel that it was test fitted for, had an opening, at the top of the socket, of about .60 inches. You can measure yours for fit.

This handle was made, oversize and was made to fit, about 5/16 or 3/8 of an inch back, from the shoulder of the handle, similar to original 750 handles. This handle was turned by hand, on the lathe.
